We have received permission to run an intramural soccer season. Registration will stay open only until Sept. 21, though we only have a limited number of players allowed under our safety rules. Please read this long but important email if you are interested in fall recreational soccer!
Cheltenham Sports is an organization run by volunteers. As of now, we have volunteer coaches to lead coed programs for kids from 4 to 7 (Under 5 through Under 8) and coed programs for our older kids, ages 12 and older.
We can accept registrations for all ages -- including kids ages 8 through 11 -- but can only offer a program for the 8 to 11 age group if there are multiple volunteer coaches who will be responsible for safely running that age group.
If you are interested in coaching -- for any age group -- please respond to this email and let us know!
The intramural season will start at the end of September and run until mid-November. Practices will be Monday nights and games will be on Saturdays during the day. Only a limited number of registrations will be offered at each age group.
No group activity is without risk, but we will do everything we can to offer a safe outdoor program for kids. Our safety rules include limiting the number of kids on the field and playing small-sided soccer. Depending on age, our games will range from 2 vs 2 up to 5 vs 5. This has the advantage of letting kids have fun playing in-person with other kids while building skills by getting a lot of touches on the soccer ball.
Families on the sidelines during practices and games will need to wear masks and stay socially distant. There will be time between practices and games for each age group to clear out before the next age group takes the field.
